OAKVILLE, Ont. – The Canadian Tour has postponed the San Luis Potosi Open effective immediately and is working diligently with its travel partners to bring its members and officials home as soon as possible.

The Tour is currently working to reschedule the tournament for later this season.

The World Health Organization says the swine flu outbreak is moving closer to becoming a pandemic.

"It's clear that the virus is spreading and we don't see any evidence of this slowing down at this point," said WHO flu chief Keiji Fukuda at a news conference in Geneva, Switzerland on Wednesday.

The World Health Organization raised the influenza epidemic level from 4 to 5 late Wednesday afternoon, signalling that a pandemic is imminent, and urged countries to implement their pandemic plans.
