LONG DRIVE CHAMP TO PLAY AT SYNCRUDE BOREAL OPEN IN FORT MCMURRAY
Monday, June 18, 2012 - Submitted by Scott Pritchard

(Oakville, Ont., June 18, 2012) - Jamie Sadlowski, two-time RE/MAX World Long Drive Champion (2008, 2009), has been granted a sponsors invitation to play in the 2012 Syncrude Boreal Open. The native of St. Paul, AB will tee it up in his first Canadian Tour event in Fort McMurray in front his fellow Albertans.

"I'm very excited to be playing in my first Canadian Tour event in Fort McMurray in the Syncrude Boreal Open," said Sadlowski.  "Having been born and raised in Alberta and always having the dream of playing professional golf it's an awesome opportunity and I look forward to playing in my homeland in front on my friends and family," add Sadlowski.

The 23-year old first made headlines as a bona fide player when he played in the 2011 Albertson's Boise Open on the Nationwide Tour. Sadlowski's second round 5-under 66 was enough to make the cut and earn his first pay cheque in a PGA TOUR sanctioned event.

In addition to winning the RE/MAX World Long Drive in 2008 and 2009, Sadlowski also was the back-to-back RE/MAX World Junior Long Drive Champion in 2005 and 2006. Sadlowski's longest recorded drive in competition is 418-yards which won him the 2008 championship.

At 5-11 and 165 pounds, Canadian Sadlowski set several records in competition as a junior, including the longest drive – 437 yards – and the longest drive in the finals – 420 yards. He plays to a +1.1 handicap at Whisper Rock Golf Club in Scottsdale, Az. and can hit a 2-iron 300 yards. His club head speed is 148 MPH , and his ball speed is 213 MPH (PGA TOUR Average 165).
