CANADIAN TOUR ANNOUNCES EXEMPTIONS FOR $100,000 TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP

Jon Mills, David Morland IV, David Lang and Eugene Wong have all accepted invitations to participate in this year's Canadian Tour Championship at Scarboro Golf & Country Club August 23-26.

Mills, 34 is a native of Belleville, ON and is currently a member of the Web.com Tour where he is a two time winner including the 2005 PGA of Canada Championship. Since turning professional in 2001, Mills has been one of Canada's top touring professionals having played on the PGA TOUR for two seasons. Mills is also a winner on the Canadian Tour and the 2003 Canadian Tour Order of Merit champion.

Morland, 43, is currently a member of the Web.com Tour where he is a three time winner. In addition to his wins on the Web.com Tour, Morland is also a Canadian Tour winner, having won the 1999 PEI Classic. Morland, who is returning to competitive golf after recovering from an injury sustained in car accident, grew up in Scarborough and attended Bethune High School.

Lang, 25, is from Toronto and attended Humber College where he stared on the school golf team. The former Canadian College Champion (CCAA) will be making his second start on the Canadian Tour after finishing tied for third spot at 2012 Players Cup, where he Monday qualified his way into the event. Lang is all but guaranteed status on the Canadian Tour for 2013 by virtue of his finish at The Players Cup and will be playing for position on the 2012 Canadian Tour.

Wong, 21, recently turned professional at the Canadian Tour Players Cup, where he finished tied for 27th. The North Vancouver native was a decorated amateur having won the Jack Nicklaus award in 2010 as the NCAA's top golfer. More recently Wong was named the PAC 12's player of the year as well as an All-American for the second time in his career.

Mills and Wong recently played in the Canadian Open but failed to make the cut. Both players will be looking to get in contention at the Canadian Tour's premier championship next week in Scarborough.

The Canadian Tour Championship is a 72-hole stroke play competition running Thursday, August 23 through Sunday August 26, 2012 at the historic Scarboro Golf & Country Club. The field of 156 professionals will be cut to 60 and ties on Friday with the leaders playing the final two rounds for the coveted Canadian Tour Championship.
